34-362A Bachmann LNER Thompson Full Brake Coach number E19E - BR Maroon

New Tooling has been developed to expand the Bachmann Branchline range of LNER Thompson Coaches with this Full Brake vehicle. Used to transport parcels and luggage, this vehicle is an ideal complement to a passenger train or could be marshalled as part of a dedicated parcels train operating across the LNER network and into bordering regions.

Entering traffic just after World War Two, the Thompson coaches were the last mainline corridor coaches to be built by the LNER, and indeed examples continued to be outshopped after Nationalisation in 1948. Utilising steel panelling, a departure from the teak panelling traditionally seen on coaches built by the LNER and its predecessors, the Thompson coaches were sleek and modern in appearance. A teak effect paint finish was applied from new, emulating the teak panelling of their predecessors and allowing the modern vehicles to sit side by side with their ageing counterparts. Whilst much of the fleet would remain in service until the final days of steam, many of their hallmarks would also be seen in their successors, the British Railway Mark 1 Standard Coaching Stock.

The Bachmann Branchline models of the LNER Thompson Coaches entered traffic to critical acclaim only a few years ago, and the five types modelled initially are now complemented by this all new Full Brake vehicle made to matching standards. Essential for any BR Eastern Region modeller, every coach is a faithful replica of the prototype, with features like separately fitted roof vents, steps and footboards. Lamp irons are fitted to each corridor connector whilst underneath, the vacuum and steam heat pipework is present along with battery boxes, dynamo and brake equipment all fitted between the truss rod frames. The bogies incorporate electrical pickups and brake details, whilst couplings are mounted in NEM pockets fitted to close-coupling mechanisms. The expertly finished exterior of each model is achieved using authentic colours, logos and fonts to give every model an exquisite appearance.
