O-16.5 NG7 Gauge

O-16.5 Gauge is probably the most commonly used scale/gauge combination. The track gauge used is 16.5mm which is common with OO/HO. OO/HO track can be adapted or specialist 16.5mm track from PECO used. A wide variety of railways can be reasonably portrayed, having track gauges between 2ft and 2ft 6in. Examples include:

Small industrial lines serving quarries and all sorts of other undertakings
Major feeder lines built to bring raw materials to railhead or port, a very good example being the Ffestiniog Railway in North Wales. These may or may not have provided a passenger service as well.
Lines built for general public transport, where built to the 2ft gauge, serving remote areas and providing all the facilities and services of a main line railway. The best known example in the UK being the Lynton & Barnstaple in Devon.
Lines using a gauge around 2ft 3in which include the Talyllyn Railway in North Wales
2ft 6in gauge lines, including the Leek & Manifold in Staffordshire or the Welshpool & Llanfair in Mid-Wales.

Bachmann refer to this as "NG7" and their models are produced at a scale of 1:43.5 or 7mm:1ft, the same as O Scale Standard Gauge and O-16.5 Narrow Gauge, making them fully compatible with these existing scales. NG7 models also run on 16.5mm Gauge track, such as Peco O-16.5 Narrow Gauge Track or standard OO/HO Gauge track. NG7 and O-16.5 are fully compatible.

ON-30 Gauge items can also be used - very basically it is the same as mixing OO and HO gauge for example.
