Ventnor West station was open between 1900 and 1952, being the terminus of a short branch line veering off the Isle of Wight Central Railway line at Merstone. Unfortunately the line did not fulfill expectations as the station was inconveniently located for the town and usage was poor. Happily the station still exists in private ownership. This Signal Box is based on the prototype at Ventnor West.
