The elegant Riley Kestrel with its sweeping lines and forward opening front doors epitomises the 1930s and 1940s motoring scene. In real life, the British Riley Company launched the Kestrel in 1937 and it continued in production until 1940.
The 1:76 scale Oxford model is based on the 1938 Riley 16hp vehicle. The Kestrel sported a four speed manual gearbox and a top speed of 80 mph. For its latest outing, the Riley Kestrel appears in an all-over grey rather than the two-tone version you’ve seen before, offset with silver trim. The grey body colour is echoed in the wheels which also have silver hubs, while the roof panel has been masked a darker matt grey. Registered AWF 975, the interior of the model has a brown steering wheel and violet blue seating. Very smart!
