The Beatles were a phenomenon, from the very moment they were introduced by the legendary broadcaster, Bill Grundy in 1962 until their last live performance as a band on the 30th January 1969. On the 9th February 1964 they played the Ed Sullivan Show and this is to be the moment it is considered that they ‘cracked’ America becoming the first British band to break into the US music market.
