Oast Houses are an essential part of the brewing industry and are commonly found in Kent, amongst other hop growing regions. They are used to dry out freshly picked hops before they are sent to make beer and are known in some locations as hop kilns. This Scenecraft model depicts a brick-built Oast House that features a cylindrical kiln with a weathervane at its top, along with a stowage area that is equipped with a hoist for lifting hops above a pair of brown wooden doors. They can be used on any N scale layout depicting a rural setting which might have agricultural land nearby.
