Since the dawn of the railways and right through to the mid-twentieth century, goods sheds were not only the preserve of dedicated goods facilities but were found at stations across the country. Many took a relatively simple form like that portrayed by this Scenecraft model which is little more than a corrugated tin shed mounted on a wooden platform to bring the structure up to a convenient height for loading and unloading wagons. Finished in grey with blue doors and roof vents, this Goods Shed will provide covered storage suitable for stations and goods yards alike.
