Joseph Moger and his sons were coal merchants and known to have operated by 1865 out of LB&SCR yards at Crystal Palace (inclduing high level), Gipsy Hill, Norwood junction and Penge stations. By the turn of the century Moger also had a presence at yards including Tulse Hill, Peckham, Sydenham, Epsom, Ewell, Merton Abbey and Raynes Park.

Wagons number 232 and 576 were from twenty 12T seven plank wagons built by Charles Roberts in 1911 and lettered “Moger& Co Ltd” and although registered by the South Eastern and Chatham Railway they were lettered as L.B.&S.C.Rly.

The Kernow Model Rail Centre Exclusive model in TT:120 gauge is being produced for KMRC by Peco whilst the O guage version is being produced by Dapol. The models are based on their seven Plank open wagon.

Our Exclusive TT:120 gauge model TTC031 Peco 7 Plank Open Wagon No. 576 Moger & Co Ltd is priced at £25.00

Our Exclusive O Gauge model K7074 Dapol 7 Plank Open Wagon No. 232 Moger & Son London is priced at £65.99

Both are available now online and from both Kernow Model Rail Centre branches.

Matthew Mazzocchi-Higgs, Guildford Branch Manager said: “Having produced the Moger wagon as the Guildford branch first Exclusive local wagon in OO gauge, it has often been requested in other scales, so we are pleased to be able to now offer it in both TT:120 and O gauges. This wagon being LB&SCR based is an ideal choice for our exclusive models with the LB&SCR having arrived at Guildford in 1865.”
