We announce an Exclusive Graham Farish N Gauge Class 47/7 Diesel 47 799 Prince Henry in EWS Royal Claret livery.
Brush Type four, later Class 47 locomotive 47 799 was built at BR Crewe and introduced as number D1654 on 23rd January 1965. Under the TOPS numbering system, she was initially renumbered as 47 070 in February 1974. Following renumbering to 47 620 in September 1984, she was named Windsor Castle at Paddington station by Her Majesty, The Queen on July 26th 1985. She retained the name upon a further renumbering to 47 835 in December 1989.
In the early 1990s, InterCity’s Class 47/4s 47 834 "Fire Fly" and 47 835 "Windsor Castle" were often utilised for use on the Royal Train. These were converted to Class 47/7 and renumbered 47 798 "Prince William" and 47 799 "Prince Henry" by May 1995. At the same time, they were repainted in a Royal Train version of the Res (Rail express systems) colour scheme.
In August 1997 the Res logos were removed and replaced with EWS (English Welsh & Scottish Railway) branded claret. They served until 2004 when replaced by Class 67 locomotives. 47 799 is now privately owned and preserved under repair on the Eden Valley Railway.
The Kernow Model Rail Centre Exclusive highly detailed model in N Gauge is being produced for KMRC by Graham Farish. The model features a die-cast chassis with all wheel drive, NEM coupling pockets, directional lighting and is supplied with an accessory pack that includes cosmetic couplings and buffer beam pipework.
The KMRC Exclusive class 47 is available in standard DCC Ready £179.95, equipped with a Next 18 DCC Decoder Socket (recommended Decoder item No. 36-567B) and DCC SOUND FITTED £279.95 versions.
