76FT4003 Oxford Diecast Ford Transit Mk4 RAC

The Ford Transit Mk4 represented the 3rd generation of the vehicle in real life, spanning the years from 2000 to 2006.  This vehicle was different in that it had been designed in the USA and contained many cutting edge features; it came with automatic transmission; front or rear wheel drive; more cargo space and greater towing capacity. An option on rear wheel drive models included controls mounted on the dashboard, a specially adapted manual mode, tow-haul mode, economy mode and winter mode. All of these plus points would have made it an ideal vehicle for the RAC, whose key role is helping motorists in distress in all conditions and sometimes over difficult terrain.

Our model is registered VE03 GGZ from 2003 and is decorated in the ultra modern bright orange with red and white chevron back with a blue and white panel promoting the RAC. To the sides and front, the printed information is in white against the orange ground, as well as a dark blue and white panel masked along the sides. A notable feature is the clever way in which the offside front wing chevron decals have been printed over the curved surface – it is absolutely flush!  The van interior is moulded completely black. A final tooling modification on this release sees the addition of a roof bar positioned right at the back of the roof – authentic down to the final detail!
