This may be a style of track unfamiliar but this design is common in some locations on the continent, especially France and is also found on the latest High Speed 1 route in Kent, and will probably be used on other similar high speed lines of the future. Peco are keeping up with the trends by offering this latest addition to the range, and modellers can now run their Hornby Class 395 "Javelin" EMUs on some prototypical track!. The main feature to observe is the unusual design of the sleepers, which are basically two concrete blocks linked by a steel shaft, generally L-section in profile on the prototype. Once the track is ballasted the steel bar is often covered as illustrated.

The Peco track is a faithful representation of this track design, with finely moulded rail fixings and the characteristic shape of the sleeper produced in a grey plastic. Once laid and weathered it will look very effective. Code 75 nickel silver rail ensures a fine look and provide good electrical properties.
