Rapido Trains UK have announced LSWR / WD (pre-grouping companies) 20T Brake Van and GWR G31 & G34 MOGO, X9 MICA A and V32 TEVAN in OO Gauge and Additional 00-9 Cranmore style tank locos and All-Purpose Wagon Liveries.

OO Gauge LSWR / WD 20t Brake Van.

Thirty five new 20 ton brake vans to a design by Surrey Warner were introduced by the London & South Western Railway (LSWR) in 1907. They also had a separate goods compartment from the guards' area, making them ideal for parcels and light goods duties. They were later issued SR Diagram 1545.
During the First World War the War Department (WD) adopted the LSWR 20t Brake Van design as standard, only amending it so that it was 2in narrower. After the war, at least 250 of the WD built 20t Brake Vans were returned to the UK and were allocated to number of pre-grouping railway companies to replace other vans lost during the hostilities.
Twenty of them were subsequently purchased by Southern Railway. Some examples survived through to the last days of BR steam, as they were still favoured for branch line work.

OO Gauge GWR X9 MICA A and V32 TEVAN.

In 1930, the GWR introduced the Diagram X9 MICA. This covered van broke the usual GWR van standard of a 9ft wheelbase and 16ft body. Instead, they opted to use the 17ft 6in underframe, 10ft wheelbase and fittings that were RCH compliant. It was designed for the dedicated transport of meat with small feeder ice tanks hanging from either end of its roof, and a type of cork lining to keep its load fresh.
From 1938 many of the X9s being converted, and their sole purpose amended. Any MICA A that retained their original purpose, lost their MICA code during WW2, and were given the new code INSUL-MEAT, which was painted boldly on their sides.
Upon conversion, X9 vans that underwent the change were given a new diagram, V32, and were designated as TEVANs. The TEVANs continued the vans' legacy of transporting perishables; however, this was now Cocoa and tea.

OO Gauge GWR RCH G31 and G43 MOGO.

The GWR introduced its first Motorcar Goods Wagon in 1905. This lengthy designation was shortened to MOGO by the GWR. The MOGO was the natural evolution of the traditional covered carriage truck. By 1933, it was quite apparent that the popularity of the car was so much so that thousands were being built for export. The GR introduced their Diagram G31. These had the same RCH underframe design as the X9 MICA A, but had an entirely different body, vacuum brakes as standard, 3-hole steel disk wheels, and RCH axleboxes. The G31 MOGO were rated to carry 12 tons. They featured doors at both ends and a short flap with blocks that could hinge down to rest on the buffers. This allowed vehicles to drive through from wagon to wagon when they were being loaded. A total of 350 G31 MOGOs were built between 1933 and 1936. GWR would revise this design in 1946 with plywood sheeting sides and doors and given the diagram G43.

00-9 Cranmore Tanks and All-Purpose Wagons new liveries.

New modification to their 009 Cranmore tooling have created a “what-if” large tank variant. This features a larger tank that extends over the smokebox alongside a revised chimney, dome and safety valve arrangement.

Two liveries are being provided in both DC and DCC Fitted variations. The Cranmore loco range can viewed and pre-ordered, due for delivery during 2027 here>>>

Also announced are new liveries for their 00-9 Dropside Open, cylindrical tank, gunpowder van, covered van and perked roof All-Purpose Wagons.
