New release - pre-orders invited - expected during 2nd Quarter 2026. preauthkernow
The ‘Toad B’ brake van was introduced by the LNER in 1928 and was based on an earlier North Eastern Railway design with its distinctive boarded side duckets (guard’s look-outs). This is one of the narrow-planked versions.
A total of 260 were built at Doncaster and by BR days could be found all over the former LNER network, though they were soon phased out in favour of more modern versions during the early 1950s.
The BR ex-LNER Brake Van E140580 in TT:120 scale is a faithful representation of the distinctive brake vans inherited from the London and North Eastern Railway and widely used during the early British Railways era.
Finished in BR grey with running number E140580 this brake van is equipped with standard TT:120 magnetic couplings, a moulded underframe and brake rigging with a die-cast chassis and pairs perfectly with the new TT:120 J50 Class locomotives (TT3042M) or (TT3026M).
