D6xx North British Warship OO Gauge
We announced this model back in 2010 but after virtually no progress was made with the previous supplier we awarded the contract to DJModels in August 2014. The project effectively started from scratch from this date, albeit with research already well-advanced. Further problems resulted in us working directly with the factory from April 2018, since when progress was swift and the first models arrived on 11th March 2019.

17th February 2020 Model Rail Model of the Year 2019 awarded to our 'Warship' 'Diesel & Electric Locomotive of the Year' Category! We also came third in the category for 'Overall Manufacturer of the Year'!
At the Great Electric Train Show at Milton Keynes on 12th October 2019 Hornby Magazine awarded us the Model of the Year 2019 - Locomotive Category!

Models
The models are produced using tools owned by Kernow Model Rail Centre. Each model is a certified limited edition of 750 and features etched nameplates, working directional and cab lighting, coreless motor with flywheels and is DCC Ready.

HISTORY OF THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE MODELS
The first CADs were received in November 2014 and were checked and feedback to correct some minor issues given to the factory, with updated CADs received on 14th August 2015. Various iterations of CADs were then worked on with the issues being very minor but we feel it is important to get the minor details correct.
In November 2016 approval was given for tooling to commence. The final CADs are shown below.

Project update - 21st October 2017 - First engineering sample arrives! The first engineering prototype has arrived. This is the first working model and is to test the fit of the various parts and also to check the running capabilities of the model. The sample is currently being extensively tested. Images below show this first sample. Note that not all details have been added and the combinations of details may not be correct for any particular number. Some of the details have been knocked loose during the testing.
Project update - 25th April 2018 - Second Engineering Sample arrives
Our second engineering sample has arrived and will now be thoroughly tested. Some images of the sample are shown below
Project update - 7th June 2018 - Ready to move to livery sample!
Project update - 31st October 2018 - First painted samples received
Project update - 24th November 2018 - Production commences and additional version announced! Production has commenced and we have added an additional model to pre-order - K2605 D602 "Bulldog" in BR Blue livery with small yellow panels. We currently estimate that the models will take around eight weeks to manufacture followed by a further eight weeks in transit.
Project update - 25th January 2019 - Production of the first two versions complete The first two models left the factory and are now on board the vessel AL MURAYKH which is due to dock into Southampton around 28th February. This does mean the pre-order price offer has now closed. K2601 and K2604 are in the first shipment with the remaining models expected to be completed soon after Chinese New Year.
Project update - 26th February 2019 - Production of the next two versions complete The next two models left the factory and are now on board the vessel MOL TRUTH which is due to dock into Southampton around 4th April. K2600 and K2605 are in this second shipment with the remaining models expected to be completed soon.
Project update - 11th March 2019 - First two models arrive K2601 and K2604 have arrived in Camborne and we are in the process of sending the orders in date order. This is in the date the order was paid for, not the date the order was placed. Completed by 20th March.
Project update - 15th March 2019 - Production of the final two versions complete The next two models left the factory and are now on board the vessel HAI BANG DA 318 which is due to dock into Southampton around 21st April. K2602 and K2603 are in this final shipment.
Project update - 17th April 2019 - Second two models arrive K2600 and K2605 have arrived in Camborne and we are in the process of sending the orders in date order. This is in the date the order was paid for, not the date the order was placed. Completed by 30th April.
Project update - 13th May 2019 - Final two models arrive K2602 and K2603 have arrived in Camborne and we are in the process of sending the orders in date order. This is in the date the order was paid for, not the date the order was placed.
Prices have risen since the announcement and we are unable to honour the pre-order prices. We contacted each customer that had an existing pre-order placed prior to 14th December 2016 giving details of how we intend to mitigate this rise. The offer for these customers has now expired.
