KX099 Scale Model Scenery kit Dutch Barn

A versatile OO gauge dutch barn laser cut building kit, suitable for any farm scene on your OO scale model railway layout or can be repurposed as a saw mill, stores or goods shed for railway or industrial use. The design is typical of steel framed Dutch Barns seen all over the British Isles, with detailed steel frame and rusty, black painted corrugated iron. It makes a great partner to any of our OO gauge farm buildings (opens in a new tab).

Based on a real Dutch Barn down on the Roseland, not far from our factory, this barn captures the essence of a traditional barn that's been exposed to the elements for many years.

The walls of the OO gauge barn are finished with our unique TX104-OO rusty, painted corrugated iron texture for a realistically better finish straight from the pack. And the base is wrapped in weathered concrete paper. All textures are supplied pre-weathered, only the framework will need painting & weathering. We used a dark brown acrylic spray then brushed it over with rust coloured weathering powder while the paint was still a little tacky.

And components apart from the paper wraps are supplied pre-cut for ease of assembly. The barn isn't really suitable for a beginner as there are some small, delicate parts. But if you take your time with the assembly you will be rewarded with a very detailed building once complete.

There is an abundance of opportunities for customization with this oo gauge building kit. You can leave either end wall off, leaving one side and one end open for a more derelict look (or more accessible stores / saw mill building).
