KMRC Skrifa - Product Focus - GWR Diesel Railcars

4D-011-006 WSL Dapol Streamlined Railcar number 10 in GWR
The Great Western Railway first introduced their successful diesel railcars in conjunction with Park Royal and AEC in 1933. They survived in regular use until 1962.
The first 18 featured streamlined bodywork which to led to their nickname "flying banana" whilst the remining were built to a more angular design, although the nickname was applied to all.
Two cars numbers 17 and 34 were built for express parcels services rather than passenger carrying.
The earlier units operated as single railcars. The final four, numbered 35 to 38, were twin coupled units with the driving cabs at the outer ends of the set.

They are the perfect vehicle for GWR/WR layouts of any size, from the classic branch line terminus to a major city station.
