KMRC announce Exclusive TT:120 Gauge Covered Van in the livery of Holman Brothers Limited of Camborne.

KMRC announce Exclusive TT:120 Gauge Covered Van in the livery of Holman Brothers Limited of Camborne.

We announce an  Exclusive TT:120 Gauge covered van in the livery of Holman Brothers Limited of Camborne for over 200 years.

Holman Brothers Ltd. was an English mining equipment manufacturer founded in 1801 based in and formed the industrial heart of Camborne. By the 1890s Holman began to manufacture air compressors. The first "Cornish" compressors were built to designs adapted from existing steam engines. In 1968 a merger took place with Buckinghamshire compressor manufacture Broom & Wade. creating the CompAir Group and the business became CompAir Holman. The company celebrated its 200th anniversary in 2001 but closed its Camborne facilities in late 2003.

The Kernow Model Rail Centre Exclusive model in TT:120 Gauge is being produced for KMRC by PECO Ltd. The model is based on their 9ft wheel base BR/LMS covered van with separately fitted brake lever, brake shoes in line with the free-running metal-tyred spoked wheels. A standard (removable NEM355) TT:120 coupler is fitted compatible with other TT:120 rolling stock on the market.

The Exclusive model is priced at £25.00 and is available now online and from both Kernow Model Rail Centre branches.

Graham Muspratt, Development  Manager said: “With Holman Brothers becoming part of the CompAir group, I have a close affinity with the company having served my mechanical engineering apprenticeship within the CompAir Group and worked for them for 19 years. The latest new tooled Peco covered van gave us the opportunity to produce this TT:120 Exclusive model celebrating the company that was at the heart of Camborne.”
