A new look and new website for Kernow Model Rail Centre

We have today launched a new website along with a refreshed look for the established brand.

We have been in business for almost 24 years, as part of our launch strategy we started with a brand-new custom website with live stock levels. At the time almost nobody had live stock on their websites, if they even had a website in the first place. Ten years ago, the existing website was a forced change, it went live just before the advent of smartphones and tablets, so never really worked very well on them, being suited to traditional PCs.

As time has passed though it became clear that we could not continue with the limitations of the existing system. The new Shopify based website is easier to navigate (especially on mobile or tablet devices), find products easier via a powerful search facility, a fresh style latest news section and we now also offer a number of new payment options (including Apple/Google Pay). Both our Guildford and Camborne shops have also switched to Shopify Point of Sale Shopify-based system.

Our Loyalty Rewards scheme, which has been rewarding customers since 2007, continues as a thank you to regular customers. It is free to join, and customers earn 1 Point for every £1 they  spend. Once 500 points has been reached this is automatically converted to a £5 loyalty credit. Customers can spend this credit immediately or continue to collect points and let their credit build.

To coincide with the new website a range of ‘launch special offers’ will be available throughout the week.

The opportunity has also been taken to refresh the look of the KMRC brand with a new logo incorporating the familiar ‘rugby ball’ identity within the full name of KMRC creating in an oval locomotive builders plate style.

Chris Trerise, Managing Director said: “We thank our customers for bearing with us during this transition. Whether they have been with us for many years since the early days, or are a more recent customer, we look forward to this new chapter in our history and are always incredibly grateful for the business and support we have received. We really hope that this upgrade will make the order experience much smoother.”
Chris continued: “We stock the whole range of products and accessories from many manufacturers providing everything required to build your layouts from track, control systems to scenic materials, it is not just about locos and rolling stock, and we look forward to continuing to supply all our customers with all their modelling needs, in person at either of our Guildford and Camborne shops or online
."

For those hoping for new Exclusive model announcements, we have a few up our sleeve and will be revealed at our Camborne shop open event on Friday 11th September, for details of the event click here.
