Built at Darlington and Doncaster, 146 were produced between 1955 and 1962, but due to their non-standard nature, they were withdrawn early, between February 1967 and June 1972. \u003c\/p\u003e  \u003cp\u003eBuilt as D4067 in 1961 at Darlington, this locomotive initially worked at Darnall, Sheffield, followed by Langwith Junction and Shirebrook. Withdrawn in 1970, it was sold to the NCB and used at Betteshanger Colliery in Kent.
