Hornby have today announced their new range for 2023 and stated that it is a year of catch up. It includes a brand new tooled locomotive, rolling stock and a whole host of new liveries for existing models.

The highlights of the new tooled items in the 2023 Hornby range are summarised below.

New Locomotives

New tooling for 2023 sees the introduction of the LNER streamline B17/5. The A1/3 and BR English Electric DP1 Co-Co 'Deltic' enter the Hornby Dublo Range.
The 100th anniversary of Grouping occurring at the start of this January is marked by the limited edition “Big Four Centenary Collection” of one loco representing each of the big four.

New Coaching Stock
No new tooling for 2023 but the range includes new Era 1 L&MR coach pack, EWS business coach set, LNER 61'6" Gresley corridor coaches return and further Mk3s in Blue and Grey and Intercity liveries.

Wagons
New tooling includes and all new BR TTA tank wagon, the GWR Macaw B/BR Bogie Bolster C, and LMS/ BR Salmon/YMO bogie wagons.

Licenced Collectables
The staple range of Hornby collectable licenced projects continues with new items added to The Beatles range of wagons.

Skaledale buildings
The popular range of resin buildings is further extended with GWR style buildings.

Hammant and Morgan Bluetooth HM7000 Model Railway Control System
Superseding Hornby's HM6000 control system there will now be a HM7000 Bluetooth control system a new range of sound (now branded as TXS Triplex sound - so named because it can play three sound simultaneously). A new free app based control system utilising Bluetooth with no need for a base command unit and can used on existing DC systems and or DCC systems, three new Bluetooth sound decoders, with plug in sugar cube speakers, enable a wide range of free sound files to be download. Also four new Bluetooth non sound decoders will be available. An additional 'stay alive' 9 second power bank can also be fitted.
